RENEWAL OF VOWS 2016

Every year I feel privileged to write and conduct the Renewal of vows for Naomi and Graham founders of http://www.weddingwishingwell.org.uk/default.html

Naomi and Graham chose Watergate Bay in Cornwall for their 4th Wedding Anniversary.  It was another hot day as they had their rings blessed, read their vows to each other and I performed a Hand Fasting ceremony.

May this knot of love remain forever tied, and may these hands be blessed.

May they always be held by one another.

May they have the strength to hold on tightly during the storms of life.

May they remain tender and gentle as they nurture each other.

May these hands build a relationship of love, caring, and devotion.

May you both see each other’s hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

As this lovely couple paddled in the sea, I helped their son Devon make a pebble picture on the sand.

Beach Renewal of Vows

_DSC5792 (1)On one of the hottest days of the year, Naomi and Graham celebrated their Renewal of Vows  on Watergate Bay beach.  We walked across the golden sand to a quiet secluded area near the cliffs and, with their son, Devon, they spoke of their love and happiness to be able to share their lives together.

After exchanging new rings, they chose to include the tradition of hand-fasting into their ceremony. Hand-fasting is a ritual in which the couples’ hands are tied together as a symbol of their lives being joined together.

As Tara Statton, the photographer, walked down to the sea with Naomi and Graham, I helped Devon make hearts out of pebbles in the sand.

A glorious ceremony for a very special couple.

Beach Renewal of Vows

On a warm sunny afternoon at Pentewan Sands, St Austell, Mark and Lisa celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary together.  Surrounded by family and friends, three little girls in white dresses entranced and all the boys digging in the sand, they made their vows to each other, exchanged rings and signed the certificate.I had asked Mark and Lisa the secret to their successful marriage and they told me that they had no idea!  However they asked their guests to send me their opinions and I shared those with everyone there on the beach.  Much laughter and tears later we raised our Mason jars full of bubbly to the happy couple.

Renewal of Vows

What a memorable day!

Katie and James asked me to create a ceremony for their renewal of vows as they had been married for 5 years. We celebrated on the beach on Bank Holiday Monday – such beautiful weather. Katie and James then led the way out to the arch in kayaks to release paper boats containing all the wishes from their guests. Once the sea had absorbed all the boats – the wishes would come true. After a BBQ on the beach we watched the sun set. Memories are made of this……….

Katie sent me a thank you card:

Thank you for everything you did to make our renewal of vows ceremony so special.  It was one of the best days in our lives.

My husband Andy took photos and video of the ceremony and I will be adding a slideshow for you all to watch their special day so watch this space……
