RENEWAL OF VOWS 2016

Every year I feel privileged to write and conduct the Renewal of vows for Naomi and Graham founders of http://www.weddingwishingwell.org.uk/default.html

Naomi and Graham chose Watergate Bay in Cornwall for their 4th Wedding Anniversary.  It was another hot day as they had their rings blessed, read their vows to each other and I performed a Hand Fasting ceremony.

May this knot of love remain forever tied, and may these hands be blessed.

May they always be held by one another.

May they have the strength to hold on tightly during the storms of life.

May they remain tender and gentle as they nurture each other.

May these hands build a relationship of love, caring, and devotion.

May you both see each other’s hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

As this lovely couple paddled in the sea, I helped their son Devon make a pebble picture on the sand.

RENEWAL OF VOWS 2014

Every year I feel privileged to write and conduct the Renewal of vows for Naomi and Graham founders of http://www.weddingwishingwell.org.uk/default.html

The first time I met them was in 2014 when they celebrated their 2nd Anniversary at Deer Park Hotel, Honiton.  They exchanged rings, read their vows to each other and released balloons containing wildflower seeds.

NAOMI AND GRAHAM – RENEWAL OF VOWS 2018

On a beautiful hot day in early June, Naomi and Graham renewed their vows – again.  I have been privileged to create and perform Renewal of Vows Ceremonies for this lovely couple each year.  Thank you Naomi and Graham for asking me to be a part of your amazing story.

This couple are awe inspiring as, after a diagnosis of cancer in 2012, they set up The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation and now organise and fund weddings for those affected by terminal and life-limiting illnesses, helping them to enjoy married life before it’s too late.

“Thank you so much once again for writing and conducting such a beautiful blessing for us.  6th June is so special to us, not just because it is out anniversary, but because we get to spend it with you.  You are a special friend.”

Silver Wedding Cocktail

Theresa and Douglas celebrated 25 years together with a colourful ceremony at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth.  They bounced into the room on Spacehoppers to everyone’s delight!  The couple chose a flower ceremony to show their love for each other and unity with their family then made their own creation – a Cocktail which they named Pugwash Punch…. Theresa even added a special ingredient, an eyeball!  So they can both keep an eye on each other through life!  After a beautiful hand fasting ceremony, using red, silver and gold ribbons, they read their vows to each other.  There was not a dry eye in the room as Douglas said:

I promise to love her until I lay under the moon and stars for ever and a day.

The ceremony ended with Jumping the Broom and loud cheers from all their family and friends.

The video is now ready to view on my Facebook page.

Cambodian/Devon Renewal of Vows

Alin and Mark met in Phnom Penh in Cambodia in 2007 and when Mark first saw her, all he could think about was her beautiful smile.  Three children have brought joy and happiness to them both and they look forward to sharing many more happy family times in the future.

They decorated their ceremony table in the traditional Cambodian way with fruit, flowers and candles. Amanda and Monica threw rose petals to lead their mum down the aisle and their son, David, was an excellent Ring Bearer.

After lighting three candles they asked their guests to bring forward red roses to place in a vase to represent love, respect and romance – affirmations for their relationship.

The ceremony also included Hand Fasting – Alin made a beautiful cord in blue, red and white – the colours of the Union Jack but also the Cambodian flag!  She wove in birthstones for their children.

Mark’s mother, Jane, wrote a heartfelt thank you the next day.

Wow! Just wanted to say another big thank you.  The ceremony blew everyone away especially the touches that you brought to it, bringing the Cambodian and British cultures together in such a lovely way.  There were quite a few surreptitious tears too.  Everyone also loved the thoughts about Alin’s family and those no longer with us.  All in all, it was a marvellous day, meaningful, emotional, poignant, ecstatic and fun.  Everything and more than Mark and Alin had hoped for.

If you ever need a reference, count me in.  I thought you were totally wonderful.
With much love from all of us

PS  Amanda is available for petal collections now!
