As a celebrant, my role is to offer bereaved families a Funeral ceremony that reflects the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family.  The ceremony will focus on celebrating and/or reflecting the life of the deceased and the tribute will be respectful and highly personal.

I will always offer a full copy of the text
to the family, who may also check
the content beforehand.

Whilst not a religious ceremony as such, religious content may be included, such as prayers or hymns.

There appears to be a growing demand for these types of ceremony and the feedback from families is excellent, expressing heartfelt thanks for a ceremony that provided the funeral that they believe the deceased would have wanted.

I also offer paper hearts of Forget-me-not seeds.  Once you have planted them, year after year the flowers will blossom in memory of your loved one.

Contact me directly or give my details to your Funeral Director and let me know how you would like the funeral and I will provide a beautiful, memorable ceremony for your loved one.

If you are booking me via a funeral director, please ask them to check my availability prior to making the final arrangements.

I also offer Living Celebration ceremonies for  individuals who want to be present, and indeed to be the centre of attention, at the last celebration of their lives.  It is a time to honour and appreciate the living when they are near the end of their lives through age or illness. They want to enjoy their own funeral and the opportunity it gives them to see for the last time their friends, relatives, former colleagues, neighbours, team mates and those whose lives have touched theirs.

Funeral Wishes – Planning your own funeral or memorial service can provide peace-of-mind to you and your family. By planning your service in advance you can design and specify the exact type of service you’d like, so that your friends and family celebrate you as you wish. By letting your family know how you’d like your funeral or memorial service to be, they’ll have less difficult and complicated decisions to make during a difficult emotional time.

As Jim wrote to me after his brother’s funeral:

“The ceremony was perfect for my brother.  I didn’t know that I could be so moved.  Thank you for your help in choosing the music and the poems.  It made the whole process simple and beautiful.”  Jim

A local family wrote:

“Thank you for your guidance and the dignified way in which the service for Mum was carried out.  I am sure Mum would have been very happy indeed and many people have said what a lovely service it was.”

Thank you from a family from Plymouth

“Sarah Chapman the Celebrant who carried out the service on my behalf, was absolutely brilliant.  I don’t think I could ask for, or get, any better.  It is my intention, when my time comes, to have the same sort of ceremony and Sarah!”

I also offer MEMORIALS and SCATTERING OF ASHES ceremonies.

Please ask about the BESPOKE FUNERAL WISHES I offer for the well organised people who would like to plan their ceremony in advance.

I have a national qualification Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (QCF) and I am a Member of the Institute of Civil Funerals (M.I.C.F.)

I have also adopted The Celebrant Accord so that you are sure I always give excellent service to all my families.
