Katherine and David’s Wedding

Katherine and David celebrated their love with a beautiful Wedding ceremony at The Lavender House in Ashburton in front of their family and friends.   Katherine’s son accompanied her down the aisle and they chose roses for the Flower Ceremony, pink and white which symbolise new beginnings, happiness and completion.

Their hand fasting cord was made of three strands;

Red for passion, courage, and determination, Black for positivity and protection and White for wholeness and inspiration

Katherine and David invited these qualities and elements into their relationship and affirmations for their marriage.

This amazing couple had been through a lot to be together and chose this poem, read by Amanda.

Love Isn’t Perfect

It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook

and it doesn’t always come easy.

Love is overcoming obstacles,

facing challenges,

fighting to be together,

holding on and never letting go.

It is a short word,

easy to spell,

difficult to define,

and impossible to live without.

Love is work,

but most of all,

love is realising that every hour,

every minute,

every second of it was worth it

because you did it together

Anon

Happy Ever After to you both!

Matt and Pip’s Wedding

With it’s rich history, effortless charm and elegance, Bovey Castle in Devon was the perfect venue for Matt and Pip’s Wedding Ceremony.  After welcoming everyone to the Cathedral Room, both mothers, Linda and Sabine, came forward  to light their son’s candles, representing the love and support of their families.

I then invited Matt and Pip to take their candles and light the centre candle to represent the coming together of two lives to become a relationship that strengthens the individual through love, honour and respect.

After exchanging their rings, I described their Hand Fasting cord and why it was so important to them both.  The hand fasting cord was made of three strands;

White for wholeness, completion and inspiration, Blue for calmness, understanding and patience and Orange for good fortune, success and prosperity

Pip and Matt saw these as the qualities and elements that they invited into their relationship and affirmations for their marriage.

As I wrapped the ribbon around their hands, Matt’s sister Emma-Louise, tied the cords together and said a Binding Prayer:

Upon this day, your hands I bind,

A symbol of your hearts entwined.

To witness this, I ask of thee,

Your union forever blessed be.

After Matt and Pip had said their own heartfelt Vows to each other we listened to music played by the Harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry

I closed the ceremony with the Blessing:

May the blessing of each of us be felt by you.

Go now to walk the ways of the world together, and may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Pip and Matt sent me these wonderful words:

We will be forever grateful for the positive energy you brought to our day and in such a talented way! Thank you so much!
The beautiful photographs were taken by the Bristol Photographer Paul Roland Williams who captured their love and happiness.
