Naming Ceremony in Wembury

On a wet windy day in Wembury, Devon, family and friends gathered together to celebrate naming a gorgeous little girl with a huge smile.  The afternoon was full of laughter and some tears followed by wonderful cakes and sandwiches and, of course, a great cup of tea!
Her parents wrote this:
Sarah was fantastic in helping us to make our daughter’s naming ceremony a really special and personal event. She met with us beforehand to discuss ideas and pull the ceremony together, then provided clear direction and a sense of formality on the day. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the event and we were very grateful to Sarah for achieving this. – Thank you from the Walker family, Modbury”

Naming Ceremony

September 1st 2013 was a big day in Jacob’s life.  80 of his family and friends met in a local hall to celebrate his Naming Day.  Jacob’s Nana made a beautiful Afternoon Tea and guests arrived from as far away as the other end of the country.   There were friends on hand to organise every guest to fill in the Wish Bunting – “I promise to show Jacob how to change a plug”  up to “I promise to take Jacob to the Seychelles”.  All the children put their hand prints on the Tree of Life, and this will go into Jacob’s Memory Box with the Bunting for the future.

Jacob’s Mum, Megan wrote:

We were so pleased to have Sarah as the Celebrant for our son’s Naming Day.  Sarah was friendly and professional all the way through, helping us to understand the role of a celebrant, develop our plans for the Naming Day and gave us lots of useful ideas for us to work with.  We were able to make the day really personal and just as we wanted.

Sarah was also our Knight in Shining Armour and saved the day when our helium balloons went flat on the morning of the ceremony.  Sarah rushed out to buy us some more, even though it was a Sunday, so that we could end the ceremony just as we planned.

I couldn’t recommend Sarah highly enough as a Celebrant, she made our special day really special!”

A successful Baby and Toddler Fair at The Guildhall, Plymouth last Saturday.  Navy Day meant that there were a lot of people passing the Guildhall and coming in.  I asked “What would make a perfect Ceremony?” and people wrote their answers on a label and tied it to my wishing tree.  The winners will get £100 off their chosen ceremony.  I had some great answers from Grandmas garden to outside The Navy Inn on the Barbican.  Beaches were popular choices followed by parks.  I am looking into National Trust places as Cotehele came out as top venue.

Thank you to all who entered the competition – results soon.
