Here is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her ‘beauty tips.’
It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

I remember once hearing someone who knew her was asked what she like in real life. Their response was “that what you saw on the TV was exactly like she was, a real lady, genuine and Kind”. Reading this just confirms to me that she was. We all need to apply these principals to our lives and if everyone did what a wonderful world this will be. This is the life Christ has called us to live so we are a blessing to others by thinking of others instead of focusing on ourselves. I love the poem, its really touched me.
only a beautiful soul inside and out could write such beautiful words to touch ones heart
Although it was one of her favorite poems and often quoted by her, Audrey Hepburn did not write this poem. It was written by humorist, Sam Levenson. Audrey, reportedly, was always vigilant in giving him credit for it.
With so much division in our country lately, I thought this poem would be a beautiful tribute to my sister in law Kay who just passed away from ALS. She was always a peace maker between some, and I’m hoping these words will make a difference with words spoken to others just in remembrance of her, these words describe the kind person Kay has always been!
