I received a thank you from a family whose mother loved the sea. They had chosen this beautiful poem by Tennyson as it was her favourite. We sang the hymn Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven as her family placed their flowers in memory of such a beautiful person.
A brief note to formally thank you for officiating at Mum’s funeral on Monday
We were all very pleased with the service and I think Mum would have been too !
I greatly valued your help and support with the planning and we are all indebted to you for your professionalism and skill on the day
Well done and thank you !
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.
Alfred Lord Tennyson
